The Web Content employees will provide extensive coverage of the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship for BuffaloWorldJuniors.com, giving fans an in-depth look at the tournament.  

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Buffalo Sabres and PSE web content team to provide professional coverage throughout the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship, including game previews, game recaps, feature stories and other content as assigned.
  • Cover fan-related events connected to the 2018 IIHF World Junior Championship in Buffalo, particularly those taking place in and around KeyBank Center, HarborCenter and New Era Field.
  • Must have a working knowledge of hockey and the World Junior Championship, as well as prior writing experience.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays. Times will vary between 8 a.m. – 12 a.m. (subject to change).
  • Must be willing to assist other areas of need if the situation arises.

Solutions Developer II - Pegula Sports and Entertainment (Buffalo, NY)

SUMMARY

The Solutions Developer II will work directly with the Director of Business Solutions to develop and deploy elements that will be featured throughout multiple digital media products across the Pegula Sports & Entertainment portfolio.  This individual will work day to day with the Solutions Developer I, as well as with other key departments across the enterprise. 

 RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage & maintain all aspects of the company-wide Extranet including:

    • Document management system

    • Internal communications

    • Work flow & automation

    • Server Infrastructure

    • Active directory & work place organization

  • Design, develop & deploy new applications in conjunction with internal goals & objectives

  • Create policy & documentation for new & existing  employees

  • Work with outside departments on specific goals & objectives to provide a new working environment

  • Work with Solutions Developer I on day-to-day operation of multiple products

  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Digital Media or related program

  • 3-5 years of experience in digital media/software development field

  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint, server side and database

  • Experience in digital development using technologies and languages such as HTML(5), JS, JQuery, CSS, C#, .NET, MVC, SQL

  • Mobile app development is a plus

  • Proficiency in Adobe CC, Microsoft Office, standard office software packages

  • Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

  • Flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required

Web Designer/Solutions Developer I - Pegula Sports and Entertainment (Buffalo, NY)

SUMMARY

Pegula Sports & Entertainment is looking for a talented individual to join our team to coordinate all web development (digital & mobile) as well as work with a team on internal initiatives. This individual will play a key role in developing full-circle, web-based products from concept to completion including working with analytics, content providers and developers to create dynamic and highly-responsive campaigns, sites and products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Working with Business Solutions team, build campaigns/products across multiple brands to support marketing & sponsorship goals/objectives

  • Gather and refine specifications and requirements based on technical needs

  • Awareness of user-interface design and usability standards

  • Create wireframes, navigation and other digital elements

  • Create website layout/user interface by using standard HTML/CSS practices, best software development practices

  • Integrate data from various back-end services and databases

  • Create and maintain software documentation

  • Develop new and maintain existing landing pages, microsites, and web applications.

  • Implementing or working with content approval and staging workflows.

  • Migrating data, scripting migration of data.

  • Working with multiple delivery platforms such as mobile versus desktop.

  • Creating and implementing database schemas that represent and support business processes.

  • Other duties as assigned/needed

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college/university

  • 1 -3 years of relevant development/marketing experience

  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript is required.

  • Knowledge of SQL, C#, ASP.NET, SharePoint, JQuery a plus.

  • Must be able to hand code. Experience with responsive design

  • Excellent communication skills including written and verbal; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely

  • Ability to multi-task between concurrent assignments, prioritize effectively, and adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles; works well under pressure

  • Creative and proactive problem solver with a positive attitude

  • Self-motivated with ability to work well in teams and cross-departments

  • Flexibility in working extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
