Support Specialist - Buffalo Bills (Orchard Park, NY)

Position Summary

The Information Technology Department of the Buffalo Bills has an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist.  Under general direction of the VP of IT, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing routine support to end users on a variety of issues and identifying and researching and resolving technical problems as well as providing administrative and purchase order support for the IT department. The incumbent will respond to telephone calls, email and personnel requests for technical support and document, track and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution and complete department ordering and invoice processing. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, user and event support. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Receives, evaluates and prioritizes incoming requests from end-users experiencing IT problems
  • Provides helpdesk support and resolves problems to the end user’s satisfaction
  • Performs basic system administration tasks including account provisioning and removal, e-mail setup, and maintenance of e-mail distribution lists, security groups, and individual system and directory permissions
  • Monitors and responds quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk
  • Modifies configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation
  • Provides administrative tasks relevant to IT departmental needs
  • Handles all IT department purchases, including initiating the purchase order process and invoice payment processing
  • Completes department expense reports
  • Monitors department budget and ensures expenses are properly allocated to correct GL code
  • Documents internal procedures and policies
  • Maintains confidentiality with regard to the information being processed, stored, or accessed by the end-users on the network
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Assists with on-boarding of new users
  • Installs, tests and configures new workstations, peripheral equipment and software
  • Maintains inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses
  • Manages PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
  • Performs timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science required
  • 2 years prior work experience preferred
  • Highly self-motivated and directed; detail-oriented with strong communication skills
  • Able to organize, plan, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Ability to work effectively with clients and other technical staff
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays

The Information Technology Department of Pegula Sports and Entertainment has an immediate opening for an IT Support Specialist. Under the general direction of the IT Manager, the IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing routine support to end users on a variety of issues: Identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems. The incumbent will respond to telephone calls, email, and personnel requests for technical support and document, track, and monitor the problem to ensure a timely resolution. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, user and event support. Library Manager - Pegula Sports and Entertainment (Buffalo, NY)

Library Manager

Pegula Sports and Entertainment is searching for a Library Manager.   This role will manage all media archiving responsibilities associated with PSE and its affiliates.  Specifically, this position will manage the library of digital media via ingest, metadata entry and quality control, and archive.  This role will interact with production and editorial departments for broadcast and digital to establish appropriate metadata fields among media assets including video, audio and commerce data.  In addition to ensuring the quality of metadata associated with new media as it is ingested into the asset management system, the Library Manager will periodically audit the library archives to update metadata to support current production needs.  The Library Manager needs to understand the uses for the metadata and cataloging strategy across all distribution platforms.  Long term, this position will provide leadership in the centralization of assets, metadata entry and search functionality.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of ingest of linear and file based media
  • Active in the process of metadata/logging entry for raw and edited media in all Media Asset Management systems
  • Aid in establishing workflows for moving media in and out of the asset management system for all aspects of pre and post production across all distribution channels
  • Maintain descriptive metadata schema and standardized data structures
  • Document processes and metadata hierarchy
  • Work with IT Department on maintenance

Requirements:

  • Prior logging and metadata entry experience necessary

  • Prior multimedia Content Management System experience required

  • Basic knowledge of NLEs and moving media in and out of them

  • Understanding of video codecs and transcoding

  • Attention to detail is critical in this role

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with several different departments/stakeholders

  • Personnel management experience is required

  • Experience with relational database structure is required

  • Library science degree preferred
