Facility Operations: Maintenance
Changeover Staff - Buffalo Sabres (Buffalo, NY)

Summary

Set up furniture, staging, equipment, supplies, and materials for a variety of events held at the arena.  Maintains grounds at the facility.

Responsibilities

  1. Set up, move and remove chairs, risers, staging, sports equipment, tables, supplies, and equipment.

  2. Load and unload supplies and equipment.

  3. Perform a variety of cleaning functions, which includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, etc.

  4. Maintain exterior building grounds.

  5. Operate motorized equipment such as forklifts, auto-scrubbers, pallet jacks, Cushman carts, vacuums, trash compactor, and cardboard bailer.

  6. Properly handle tools, and return tools to storage when tasks are completed.

  7. Be courteous and treat people with respect.

  8. Maintain strict confidentiality of all issues worked with.

  9. Assist in various project work as necessary.

  10. Maintain open communication with Supervisor at all times.

  11. Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times.

  12. Perform other duties and tasks as assigned or become evident.

Education / Training

A High School diploma or equivalent is required.  Previous maintenance/changeover experience preferred.  Must be able to properly operate tools.  Must be able to interpret and carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form.  Previous forklift experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift at least fifty (50) pounds.  Must be able to walk or stand for long periods of time.  Must be able to work on irregular work surfaces, such as stages, ramps, lifts, ice, dirt, ladders, man lifts, or other surfaces.  Maximum body weight cannot exceed 280 pounds in order to comply with safety limitations of equipment.   Must be able to move equipment and properly handle tools.  Must be able to work outside in all types of weather.  Must be able to work flexible hours that can include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays and shift work as needed.

Facility Operations: Custodial/Housekeeping
Overnight Cleaner - Part Time - HARBORCENTER (Buffalo, NY)

These roles are responsible for ensuring timely completion of the custodial operations specific to the The Rinks at HARBORCENTER. Responsibilities include proper use and handling of cleaning products, chemicals, equipment as well as inventory control and quality assurance.

Detailed Description:

  • Ensures proper usage of supplies and equipment throughout the Arena.

  • Safely operates and maintains all types of cleaning machinery and equipment.

  • Ensures proper use of cleaning chemicals and agents. 

  • Conducts building inspections.

  • Ability to properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures prior to using this equipment.

  • Performs a variety of cleaning/maintenance duties as assigned including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, shampooing, dusting, polishing, trash disposal, replacing light bulbs and window cleaning.

  • Removes trash from premises.

  • Completes daily work orders as scheduled.

  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate level of sanitary and cleaning supplies for assigned areas. Maintains assigned equipment in good working condition.

  • As applicable, cleans restrooms, sweeps and mops floors. Refills all dispensers such as hand towels, toilet paper & hand soap. Cleans toilets, urinals, sinks, mirrors & counters. Empties/removes trash. Reports any discrepancies or deficiencies to manager.

  • Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment.

  • Other duties as required.

    Special Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work in an upright standing position for long periods of time

  • Ability to work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain)

  • Walk and climb stairs.

  • Reach with hands and arms.

  • Ability to quickly and easily navigate the property/building as required to meet the job functions.

  • Ability to work extended/flexible hours and weekends based on project requirement.

  • Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 3 ft).

Facility Operations: Parking Operations
Parking Attendant- Part Time - KeyBank Center (Buffalo, NY)

Summary of Position

To ensure the safety of our guests, contractors and employees while they are entering and exiting the parking ramp and parking lots, all while maintaining a high level of customer service.  Ensure the safety of vehicles while in ramp and lots.  Monitoring and controlling the movements of patrons, visitors, and contractors using various methods service is also a main component of the job.

Core Responsibilities

·         Provide a high level of service to patrons before, during, and after events. Our goal is to have 100% positive interaction with patrons; 

·         Monitor the access and egress of patrons in the parking ramp and surface parking lot;

·         Conduct routine surveillance rounds around the parking lots including the immediate perimeter;

·         Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned or as become evident;

·         Remain calm and professional in all situations;

·         Monitor assigned areas within the parking lots to ensure guest safety and compliance with building policy;

·         Remove trash, debris, and refuse.   Take trash materials to the proper location and dispose of it properly;

·         Greet, monitor and control the movements of patrons, visitors, employees and contractors;

·         Report pertinent safety, maintenance and personnel information to supervisor;

·         Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times;

·         Create documentation for all pertinent events and maintain daily log sheets;

·         Must be able to handle money, and create change in a fast paced environment;

Requirements of the Position:

·         High School Diploma or Equivalent;

·         Must be able to obtain New York State certification and be of good character;

·         Previous parking lot, cash handling and/or security experience is preferred;

·         Must be able to stand, sit, walk for extended and varying periods of time;

·         Must be able to walk stairs;

·         Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.;

·         Must be willing and able to work in all weather conditions;

·         Must be willing and able to respond to emergent situations;
